“We Honor You” – Veteran’s Day Luncheon
Local veterans were honored today at Joyce Kilmer Middle School. Members of the NJEA PRIDE and FAST Committee worked tirelessly to plan this grand event for our local veterans. The afternoon began with the posting of colors by the Trenton Central High School JROTC. Afterwards, the veterans were entertained by the Trenton Central High School Orchestra. At the front of the room a small table with a single setting was placed as a Tribute to Fallen Soldiers. After a hearty buffet lunch, the Veterans were given letters of gratitude from the Joyce Kilmer Middle School Gifted and Talented Students. The culminating event of the day was when the veterans introduced themselves to the audience and received a gift and certificate of recognition for their service. This event was sponsored by the Trenton Education Association, Trenton Business & Technical Association, PBA Local 105, Trenton NAACP and the following Trenton Public School Departments: PTA/PTO, FACE, Social Studies and Music.
